what is this place

jooselabs.com is the front door of a real, self-hosted home lab: a 40+ service Docker environment on Debian Linux, built and operated end to end by one person on repurposed hardware — in a living room, not a datacenter. Self-taught, self-signed, self-hosted is not a tagline; it is the actual architecture.

the stack behind the curtain

Platform: Debian + Docker Compose, 40+ containers, NAS-backed storage
Public edge: Cloudflare DNS + Nginx Proxy Manager with managed TLS
AI in real use: local LLM inference (Ollama), text-to-speech pipelines (XTTS v2), an autonomous agent platform that runs scheduled jobs and event-driven alerts
Monitoring: the status dots in the tray below are live — a cron probe script checks each service the way a visitor would, every 5 minutes, and this page renders the result
Apps from scratch: bets (MMA paper-betting tracker) and stonks (trading journal) — built, deployed, and kept alive by the same pair of hands

why it matters

Everything here was learned hands-on: no CS degree, no bootcamp, just a desktop, a Xeon rebuild, and every failure diagnosed live until it worked. The dock icons, the certs, the dots in the tray — all of it is evidence of the same skill a support or enablement role needs: make complex things work, then make them make sense to people.
